Scenography and Light: Villa Thao Dien

In this project, we designed a Moonlight concept with an intention of creating a highlight in the staircase that connects every space of the villa. The Moon itself should accompany the residents in their daily activities, while also being an impressive surprise to the guests when they arrive in the villa.

Purposely, the Moon is one of our essential lighting strategies for the project to connect spaces and be in “symbiosis” with Nature. Hence, the residents feel comfortable and connect with their living environment, while the quietude & foster wellness are well-preserved for them.

The Moon’s track

From far and near, through the large bay windows or the head leaning over the stairs, a luminous wonder unfolds. The Moon rises and falls during the hours of day and night.

In the evening, at 6 p.m., it waits and welcomes the residents at the entrance. At 8 p.m. it begins to make a move and accompanies the residents for evening activities, taking place in the dining or living room. Finally, when it’s time to go to bed, the Moon directs its companions the path to go from one floor to another above.

The Moon creates a cycle of living, goes ON or OFF, and illuminates softly and wonderfully all the activities of its human being.
