Located on Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island, Connexion Koh Pich transforms an abandoned shopping mall into a bioclimatic, eco-brutalist hub for culture, learning, innovation, and work. kobi lighting studio was challenged to light more than just architecture to design for a welcoming variety of spaces, like offices, coworking spaces, and hubs. Lighting strategy embraces sustainability and social connection, turning light into a tool for interaction, identity, and renewal.
A Radiant Heartbeat: The Central Void
At Connexion’s core, a vast central void becomes a visual anchor, illuminated with precision to enhance the building’s bold design. This space, transforming from bright daylight to a glowing beacon at night, invites interaction and connection, symbolizing openness and possibility.
