Located in between the Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province, Zone 6 is a part of the Ong Con Island. The area is considered as the center of a luxury vibe in the heart of Swan bay. The project divided into 5 zones with integrated functions for recreation, living, and business development, including 2 river garden residences, one clubhouse with many outdoor activities, and many shopping streets. Zone 6 is a bustling entertainment destination with luxurious amenities and deluxe services offering special privileges to homeowners of stacked villas.
In close collaboration with the landscape architect LJ-Asia, kobi design team was enlisted to design the light for Zone 6’s streetscape, following strict urban lighting standards, a sustainable design approach, with a touch of creativity.
After a profound study domestically and internationally in modern urban lighting design and standards, our team aware that it is essential to apply the outdoor lighting standards into the project, in order to provide a balanced design for functionality, safety, and users’ comfort. The two lighting design standards which are TCXDVN 259: 2001 – Artificial Lighting for Urban Road, Street and Square, Design Standard (issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction), and the BS EN 13201: Road lighting (by the European government) are well-considered and complied.
Our strategic design team also bears in mind that the user’s well-being, comfort, and health issues are also important. We want to reduce our impacts on the environment and manage energy consumption. The design of the light, thereby, provides a visually positive landmark whilst creating a safe, calming environment by night-time. We utilize warm white light for the streetlight and only illuminate important areas with the right amount of light, in order to minimize the light pollution phenomenon and preserve the dark sky visibility.
Besides, a smart lighting control setting up with a timer and an efficient lighting controller was installed to enhance the energy consumption, reduce maintenance cost, taking advance of LED technology and application to the project.
Our design provides a safe level of lighting for a range of activities without cluttering the space. Through the simple lighting of trees, benches, and other landscape features, the street is kept attractive, and tranquil during normal use after dark. Pedestrian areas are lit discreetly. The landscape features revealed and celebrated through a gentle complement of light.
The lighting design is well-managed to highlight the project’s identity and be consistent with the architecture and landscape design.
