Hai Phong City Politics
ADMINISTRATION & CITY CONVENTION – PERFORMANCE CENTER
We were called to design the new administrative center of Hai Phong, created to participate greatly in the modernization of the city. To do this, we had to set up a design in harmony with this modernity, highlighting it and contributing to the well-being of the inhabitants. Kobi lighting studio had the privilege of designing a large-scale lighting solution for this new administrative center.
A Light that tells a story and punctuates the space
For the administrative center of Hai Phong, the light is meant to be ceremonial and grandiose, in the image of the place and its symbolism. Even before reaching the entrance of the building, the light invites the visitor in the form of a “luminous carpet” that connects the conference space and the administrative space.
A design that enhances architectural features while promoting a pleasant visitor experience
Light is the red thread that binds the elements together. In the same way that light binds one building to another, it also ensures a smooth transition between the promenade and the arrival of the walker. The few steps which frame the building and which mark the end of the march prepare the visitor to enter the premises. This subtle detail has been carefully illuminated because it is what guides and ensures the fluidity of mobility and the visit.
Highlighting green spaces to guarantee a refreshing stroll with natural elements
The green spaces and the pedestrian square have also been the subject of special attention in terms of lighting. In the future, cities are expected to focus on reducing consumption and the need to gather, share and socialize, which can be carefully enhanced by a city with well-organized spaces and ideal lighting. It is necessary to adapt the lighting according to specific areas : a green area requires specific urban lighting. Therefore, we have followed European standards for the illumination of green spaces. We designed the lighting systems for a long open-air green corridor from north to south.I n particular, we have avoided over-illuminating these areas in order to guarantee real comfort when exploring the landscaped areas. We wanted the light to resonate with the specifics of this corridor and to allow people to escape, to be immersed in this resourcing scenery. Since the green corridor fits perfectly into the surrounding landscape characterized by its natural aspect, we wanted to preserve this consistency.
Lighting that improves the area’s livelyhood…
A harmonious balance must be maintained between the well-being of the population and the sustainability of lighting. That’s why Kobi also created a lighting solution that promotes safety while feeling welcoming. Following our ethical approach, ambient lighting invites people of all generations to fully enjoy public spaces, discover new areas and make the most of life after dark. As a result, kobi contributes to improved services and citizen care through durable, high-quality lighting and more efficient maintenance.
… by respecting all the living beings that populate it and that may interact in its environment
In our lighting design phase, we were attentive to implement smart and sustainable lighting solutions that will not exacerbate light pollution and the nuisance that fixed and constant intensity lighting sometimes causes to nearby premises and residences, including flora and fauna, thus improving citizens quality of life.
A lighting design that contributes to the city’s radiance
The new administrative center is destined to become one of the most important landmarks in Hai Phong and the Red River Delta region. It is a key project for Hai Phong, marking a milestone in its construction and development. In addition, it enhances the attractiveness of the city for both citizens and tourists by encouraging social and cultural activities. This new political-administrative center will be a modern, dynamic and prosperous area and a symbol of the city’s development and expansion in the years to come. In addition, it contributes to Hai Phong’s goal of becoming a leading city in Vietnam in terms of industrialization and modernization. The project will be equipped with modern systems for traffic, water supply and drainage, energy, street lighting and communications.
